The Power Spectrum is a term that refers to the various tiers of parts, specifically the color of light that indicates their strength. There are 11 tiers of parts, each named, in rising order, after the NATO phonetic alphabet:
Each part of a tier is twice as durable as the same part of the previous tier. Likewise, each tier of weapon deals twice as much damage per second as the previous tier. Booster strength and module weight, however, scale linearly.
The 11 tiers are divided into four major classes. Each class has its own variety of weapons and girders:
- 1x1 Girders and Red lasers, at Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie tiers.
- 2x1 Girders and Orange lasers, at Delta, Echo, and Foxtrot tiers.
- 3x1 Girders and Yellow lasers, at Golf, Hotel, and India tiers.
- 4x1 Girders and White, fired by Juliet and Kilo tiers.
Each class increases the damage its lasers deal by eight times compared to the previous class. Additionally, moving to the next class of girders increases its length.
Memorizing the color spectrum is a very important part to guaranteeing the safety of the ship being piloted and, ultimately, the sector as a whole.
